Fall in Love All Over Again

by Linsey Lanier

Love Stories for Every Season
Seasons change, signaling life’s beginnings and endings. There are as many interpretations of the passage of time and the meaning of love as there are seashells on a sandy beach. For a storyteller, a seashell can signify a token of love, a clue to a murder or memories of the past. In this book, we’re presenting just a few of those stories for you.

Doesn’t that just make you sigh? For those of you who are regular readers of our blog, you know what this time of year brings, don’t you? Yes, lots 0f food and fun with family and loved ones, of course. But it’s also time for the Petit Fours and Hot Tamales Group Novel!

Every year, several of us Petit Fours and Hot Tamales get together and decide on what type of story we’ll write. Then the Group Novel Coordinator (moi) assigns the chapters and creates a schedule. We work on the project throughout the year and it’s always a lot of fun. In the past, we’ve produced Aspen Exposé, Atlanta Exposé, Merlin’s Daughter, and The Undercover Librarian, all of which you can read here on PFHTs.

This year, however, we decided to do something different and create an anthology of short stories. We debated on a theme to tie the stories together and gradually came up with the idea of seasons, as in beginnings and endings, and seashells.

So every story had to include “seasons” with the interpretation left open to the author, plus every story had to include at least one seashell.

Challenging, huh?

I must say, as Group Novel Coordinator, I was very impressed by the creativity and quality of writing my blog sisters produced. I’m really excited about this book and am proud to be a part of it.

I just know you’ll love these stories. And for the first time, we are self-publishing the book. It’s available now on Smashwords for FREE.

So why read it on the blog if you can download it elsewhere? C’mon, you know the answer to that:

Here’s what we’re giving away this year:

  • A $5 Starbucks gift card
  • A PFHT cookbook

And as the grand prize:

As we do every year, the name of everyone who comments will be entered into the drawing for those prizes. The more you comment, the better chance you have to win! Winners will be announced December 31, so be sure to stop by that day.

PLUS there will be more prizes from the authors. You’ll have to visit us during those weeks to find out more about that.

And there’s no reason why you can’t comment here AND download the novel. It will also be available from other distributors in a few weeks and in print from Amazon shortly thereafter. (The print version will be priced.)

So join us on December 17-28 for sighs, laughter, and love.

I’ve been following this blog for several years (I think it began with the great Thong debate :-D ) And even did a piece for you about Vancouver, my hometown, but for the last few months work and self publishing my own book have kept me too busy to come over and visit.

However… with my new website up and running, plus my book out on Kobo and Kindle, I’ve finally got time to enjoy reading again… Yay!

I’ve shared this link on my facebook and will try to get it up on my website as well, so I can direct others to what looks like a wonderful project and collection of stories.

Congratulations. Looking forward to reading your stories!
