What’s New in the New Year

This year I have a number of new things in my life. The top new thing is that I have become a grandmother. Now I have a whole new position in life. I hadn’t planned to enjoy being May May, which is what I want to be called, as much as I do. It is wonderful. Did I mention that I’m May May to twins –a boy and a girl. They are super cute and I can’t kiss them enough.

During January, I’ll have a new book out. The Hot-Shot Doctor Comes to Town takes place in a small west Tennessee town.   Here is a short little blurb about it.

A collision course with desire…

When big-city trauma doc Taylor Stiles swaps speeding tickets for community medicine, it brings back memories he’s spent years running from. The only silver lining? Delectable local doctor Shelby Wayne! But Shelby deserves white picket fences and a family—something Taylor swore he’d never do… One look at the bad-boy doc and Shelby wants to send him straight back! Taylor is the last thing she needs, but everything she wants!

The other news in my life is that my youngest son has

gotten engaged. He isn’t planning to marry until 2014 but his wife-to-be is already talking about what she would like to have. He’s also transferring colleges and will be graduating next year.

A New Year, a new position, new ideas always brings about change. I guess you could say my world is changing-for the better I believe.

Hi Susan,
Oh yes, you have had some fantastic changes to your life this past year. I’m so thrilled that all turned out well with the twins…and I must say, they are cute as buttons. Congratulations!

Laura Russell - January 3, 2013 - 2:25 am

Susan,
As a mother of twins, I offer you my warmest congratulations! How wonderful to have boy-girl twin grandchildren.

Then, more congrats on your newest title.

Let’s see, I’ve had lots of bad news this year, so for now, I will skip sharing what’s new. But even if new developments have not been positive, we’re all still here. My twins are seniors in high school having a good year.

I see new bubs & my heart just melts. They are beautiful.

Speaking of beautiful, your new book looks fabulous.

My life has become blissfully settled the last few years. I don’t expect any major changes, but you never know.

Thanks Sandy.

Susan Carlisle - January 3, 2013 - 8:54 am

Laura my daughter may have to call on you for advice. Seniors! You have a big year ahead of you. Thanks for stopping in.

Susan Carlisle - January 3, 2013 - 8:58 am

Awww, they are sooo adorable, Susan! No wonder you can’t stop kissing them.

Me? I’d like to plant a wet one on that hot doctor on the cover of your new book. Hubba, hubba. And congratulations on all counts. :)

Susan Carlisle - January 3, 2013 - 11:02 am

Linsey,
The kids are easy to kiss and the good doc isn’t half bad either!

Anna,

It is so great to see you! Glad you are back with us. I can handle wait until next year when the kids are big enough to enjoy the paper!

Pam Asberry - January 3, 2013 - 3:20 pm

Congrats on all these exciting changes, Susan! I am looking forward to the release of your latest book! My 25yo and his girlfriend left Atlanta today to seek their fortunes in California and my middle son is transferring to GA state and moving away from home for the first time. But I am hoping that 2013 will also be the year I am traditionally published. I will keep you posted! :-)

Maureen - January 3, 2013 - 4:16 pm

Congratulations on becoming May May. Our daughter is graduating from college this year.

Maxine - January 3, 2013 - 8:43 pm

Susan, I am so very happy for you! And I love the name May May–and you’ll get to hear it twice as much. Too, I am so happy for your son – he’s got a lucky bride-to-be. And love the doc’s picture. Ha, just ask me if I’d send him away. You sound like life is just getting better and better – lots of prayers answered with a Yes. Me? Nope, no big changes, but I’m very happy.

Carol Burnside - January 3, 2013 - 10:19 pm

Ah, Susan, what wonderful happenings. You must be overwhelmed with joy at times. The twins are adorable!

Did I mention I really like that cover for Hot Shot Doc??? Hubba-hubba!

Susan Carlisle - January 3, 2013 - 10:49 pm

Maxine,
It is a wonderful thing to be able to say you are happy. So few people can.

Susan Carlisle - January 3, 2013 - 10:52 pm

Carol,
It isn’t hard to love the babies or my new cover. Both are nice to have around.

Debbie Kaufman - January 4, 2013 - 10:01 am

Oh, I love that cover, and after all our discussions about Hot Shot Doc, I can’t wait to read the finished book.

And the grandbabies, I still can’t wait to see them in person. We’ve got to arrange that sometime before they leave for college, LOL!

Congrats to Nick. HMMMM. More grands in your future eventualy!

Dianna Love - January 4, 2013 - 1:05 pm
