My favorite books are the Bible (great adventure, drama, love stories), The Good Earth by Pearl Buck; the Crystal Cave series by Mary Stewart (sp?),; Kathleen Woodiwiss's early books; Philippa Gregory's books, even though first person, present tense POV wears me out; diana Gabaldon's OUTLANDER series (The first book and Drums of Autumn were my favorites); Gone Withe the Wind, of course; The Birds by Aristophanes (in contemporary translation). I could go on and on, but there's not enough space.

When I read now for pleasure (which I very rarely have time to do), I love Terry Kay, James Patterson and all his "co"writers, Michael Crighton, Mary Kay Andrews, Dottie Frank, or whatever catches my eye or my interest.

The only things I do not read are post-apocalyptic, "ordeal" books, vampires, urban fantasy, etc. My life has given me plenty of grief for free; I don't need it in a book. :-)

Oh, Pam, you stole my current read! I love Haywood's books. (Maybe it's because I can relate since I'm in the "more mature" stage of my life)

I recently read Harbinger of Healing by Connie Stevens and enjoyed it. Oh, and <B>Hot Shot Doc Comes To Town<B> was a great read. :-)

More good choices. I've read Debbi but not Emilee. So I will have to get hers and Miss Maggie and I can have a little talk over tea about the book.
