All summer long, I’ve been going double time. Too much to accomplish and not enough time to fit everything in. Appointments, classes, driving lessons for the teenager, senior pictures…and so on. What happened to the long, lazy days of summer? For us this year, there weren’t any.
So this last weekend when dear friends invited us to the lake, the answer was an absolute yes.
The change of scenery alone helped me to slow down. The North Georgia mountains are beautiful. The temperature in the mid-eighties during the day and a hint of fall coming in the evening in the mid-sixties. Saturday we spend on the lake.A fun boat ride and floating in the water followed by a lovely dinner with friends and a glass of wine.
What more could you ask for?
I can’t tell you how much I needed this downtime. And as I lay in the raft recharging my energy and creativity, allowing myself a much needed break – I vowed to take more time to do… nothing. Sometimes it’s the right answer.
So what about you? What relaxes you?
