Well, it’s that time of year again when the leaves start to turn gorgeous colors and the temperature drops from scorching to mildly cold. And something rolls around that I don’t like to think about, even though I’m only 28 (or is it 29 this year?). Yes, my birthday.
To celebrate the momentous event, we always go to The Cheesecake Factory, one of my absolute favorite restaurants. And I always get my favorite combination of foods. Hubby says I’m predictable, but I say what tastes good, tastes good. And since life is short, why not indulge in something
So since I had this post coming up, I decided to whip out the cell phone while we were chowing down (actually it was hubby’s cell) so I could s
First there’s the Endive salad. It used to be bigger but since they downsized it we get two! (I took half of mine home so I could make it last.) The website says it has “Belgian Endive, Radicchio, Glazed Pecans, Blue Cheese and Vinaigrette.” It’s scrumptious. Also notice the wonderful sourdough bread and the passion fruit tea, all served on a marble tabletop.
The next decadent delight is the main course. As I said, I always get the same thing. In fact I dream about the taste of it months in advance. It’s Bang Bang Chicken. A Thai dish that’s really Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp but the shrimp always make it too spicy and I’m not into hot food (unlike one character I write). Here’s that description from the website:
“A Spicy Thai Dish with the Flavors of Curry, Peanut, Chile and Coconut. Sautéed with Vegetables and Served over Steamed White Rice.”
As Rachel Ray would say, yummo!
Of course, we ended up taking some of both home. Mine will last at least two more days but I never get tired of it.
Of course, what’s a trip to the Cheesecake Factory without some cheesecake? This year I did have something different. We were both so stuffed, we just took it home. Of course, I gobbled up about a third of it right after I took this shot. Then I got the photos off the phone and ran upstairs to write this post while I was still on the suga
So here’s the perfect end to a perfect meal.”White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut Cheesecake: White Chocolate Chunk Cheesecake Swirled with Macadamia Nuts and Caramel on a Blond Brownie Crust.”
Now I’m making myself hungry again. Good thing I have plenty in the fridge. But I think I’ll give it another few hours before I indulge again. So what do you treat yourself to on your special day?
