The Best of Connie Gillam

By Susan Carlisle

I have to say that I knew a number of things about Connie Gillam. She is super smart, has a quiet spirit and is an all-round solid person but I didn’t know she loved trivia until this post. Just another fascinating facet of her personality.  I hope you enjoy this post (again) as much as I do and did.

I’m going to shportrait3are something about myself very few people know. I’m a trivia nut. When the game Trivial Pursuits came out, I was the person to have on your team. I knew the answers to some of the most obscure and useless information you’d ever not want to know.

Did you know both Fidel Castro and Alfred Hitchcock were born on Aug13th and this week was the start of Woodstock Festival in 1969? Did you know on this day in history, the city of Berlin was divided?

Did you know Abe Lincoln never slept in the Lincoln bedroom in the White House or that the highest denomination note was $100,000?

Did you know your house is probably built with old money? When money goes out of circulation, it’s shredded and recycled into roofing material like shingles and insulation.

Now that I’ve shared my secret, tell me yours. What surprising thing(s) don’t we know about you?

Connie is the author of The 5th Realm- A young adult paranormal romance available through Amazon:

LOL! When it comes to Trivial Pursuits, I am *NOT* the person to have on your team. But I love this blog post! Thanks, Susan and Connie!

Susan and Connie,
I remember this post. I can’t believe you have all these facts in your head. That’s amazing. I didn’t know any of them. I do remember that I loved the cover picture of your book.

Susan, thanks for sharing this one. Connie, I have all kinds of weird facts in my head, but none of them useful in Trivial Pursuit. I am poor with dates and extremely poor with pop culture. I definitely want you on my team :)

From Connie’s post, I learned that Fidel and Alfred share my b-day. lol

I can’t seem to recall a single trivia factoid, but put me in front of a Wheel of Fortune puzzle and I frequently solve them before anyone else in the room. Comes from years of doing word puzzles, I guess.

Thanks, Susan.

I don’t know why all those facts stick in my head. History was my best subject in college. (Calculus the worst) For some odd reason learning information I might never use is fun. My husband says I’m weird.

Great post! I was impressed then, and I’m impressed now. I love Trivia facts. I don’t have a lot memorized, but they’re fun to read! Thanks, Susan
