Home for Christmas (a free romantic short story)

by Carol Burnside

Home For Christmas WEBSITE USE-a
I enjoy writing short stories, though I sometimes find them more difficult to write than a longer work. The length is both a blessing and problematic. A blessing because it can be written in a much shorter time frame. Problematic because the story still has to have a beginning, a middle, an end, fleshed out characters, backstory, and setting all given as concisely as possible.

In my new release, Home for Christmas,  Joseph and Danni are friends who became lovers one Christmas, but weren’t ready to admit their feelings. Years later, on another lonely Christmas Eve, fate gives them an unexpected second chance. Will they seize the opportunity, or shy away once again?

Home for Christmas is now available from:

Price: FREE at most retailers, $0.99 Amazon

Home for Christmas also includes three chapters of A Suitable Wife (a contemporary romance slated for release in January, 2014) and three chapters of Phantoms & Fantasies (written under my pen name, Annie Rayburn.)

Carol,
I’ve told you before but I love your cover. All of your publishing projects sound great. I wish you continued success. I’ve written four short stories and I really enjoy writing them.

Carol Burnside - December 18, 2013 - 2:08 pm

Thanks, Marilyn. When I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for this story. Short stories are fun, aren’t they?

Susan Carlisle - December 18, 2013 - 6:45 pm

This is a wonderful story. One not to be missed. I love the cover. Perfect.

Carol Burnside - December 18, 2013 - 8:16 pm

Aw, thanks, Susan! :-)

It sounds like a wonderful Christmas story. I can’t wait to read it.

I’ve never tried to write a short story because I was afraid I couldn’t get everything in it.

My hat’s off to you.

I know I’ll love the story. That is one I would like to download. The cover is great. Keep ‘em coming, Carol.

Carol, I read and loved the story! I always admire the ability to write short, it’s a talent I haven’t mastered. But you did it well and I really enjoyed it.

Carol Burnside - December 19, 2013 - 2:16 pm

I hope you like it, Connie.

Carol Burnside - December 19, 2013 - 2:16 pm

I will, Maxine. Thanks.

Carol Burnside - December 19, 2013 - 2:17 pm

Well, now I’m blushing, Debbie. Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
