That’s Petra, Jordan.

Jane is correct. I had to look this one up. It’s awe inspiring.

Marilyn Baron - February 7, 2014 - 6:47 am

It doesn’t surprise me that Jane and Mary got it right. I never would have guessed. It looked to me like Greece. But it’s beautiful.

Susan Carlisle - February 7, 2014 - 8:42 am

I was going with Rome.

Pam Asberry - February 7, 2014 - 9:08 am

Wherever it is, I want to go there!

Connie Gillam - February 7, 2014 - 9:49 am

Rome or Greece would have been my guess.

It’s The Treasury in Petra, Jordan. I’ve been there twice. If you go there, make sure you walk on up to The Monastery. The first time we went, we didn’t know. The second time…Oh my gosh, there is so much more than just this first façade! It opens up into a whole ancient city, so make sure you don’t miss it! Keep going! And don’t let a guide tell you otherwise. It is an experience you’ll never forget.

Oh, and if they are still doing it and you’re there a couple of days, do the candle-light tour. Just thinking about it brings back all sorts of emotion. It was unreal. If you’re there overnight, do that too. Even if the weather looks iffy, as long as they aren’t cancelling it, do it.

I have been all over the world and this is one of the best adventure locations there is. Be prepared to hike…a lot. There is no way down into there except by foot, camel, or donkey.

Congratulations Jane!!!! You were the first to correctly identify Petra, so you know we’re planning a trip this month to Jordan and Israel.

Kyndra, thanks for the added details, I can’t agree with you more.

Thanks to everyone who commented and hope you’ll join us each Friday for the rest of February as we tour Israel and some of her attractions.

P.S. Jane, if you can send me your e-mail address to:, I’ll get your prize right out to you.
