It’s no secret that I’ve been in the grip of a promotion whirlwind, due to several recent releases and more coming. In that vein, I’m participating in several hops, spaced out one a month, then I came across a few parties, a few on The Romance Studio’s blog and a big one on The Romance Reviews site. I’ve also agreed to give away an ebook on the 23rd of each month at The Romance Studio’s Book-a-Day (BAD) contest, and a donated an ebook every month for five months on All Romance eBook Cafe’s BAD contest.
In addition, I blog here and on my own blog, with the occasional guest post here and there. I also purchase ads on various sites and have author pages on numerous websites. Last night, it occurred to me that PFHT has readers who might not know of these sites and the opportunities they offer. Our Aussie friend, Mary, probably knows of even more than I do. (Hey, Mary!) So, here’s a mini list of a few upcoming or ongoing opportunities for free e-books and prizes that I participate in:
For authors: they offer reviews, numerous inexpensive promo opportunities (including newsletter ads with wide distribution) and if you buy a membership for a nominal fee, you get deep discounts on multiple ad buys. Without membership, there are still a number of free promotional opportunities.
For readers: reviews help readers decide what to buy. They also have the BAD giveaway and frequent release parties, author chats, and special celebration parties on their blog with constant giveaways of ebooks, gift certificates and more.
For authors: they also offer reviews, paid promo opportunities (including newsletter ads with wide distribution) and have a program where, if you keep their banner or badge in the sidebar of your website, you get a free headliner ad each month.
For readers: reviews, headliner ads which give the opportunity to peruse numerous books with mini blurbs, parties with prizes and gift certificates, fun contests such as memory games, hangman and multiple choice Q&A’s.
For the month of June, they’re having a, Sizzling Summer Reads Party which lasts the entire month of June and gives readers a gazillion chances to win prizes and discover new books and new authors.
Authors: Another great way to get your book noticed on the Goodreads site is to offer giveaways. Currently, they only accommodate print, but they do provide a great little widget like the one below for posting on Facebook and blogs. As you can see, I’m running a giveaway there too!
If you know of more sites like these for author and reader opportunities, please share them in the comments.
