The Fatal Series by Marie Force

by:  Sandra Elzie

Blog-Marie ForceMarie Force is a NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY and WALL STREET JOURNAL bestselling author and although I’d read several of her books over the years, I recently finished reading her Fatal series. All seven stories in the series sucked me in right away and never let go. I read them one right after the other…and even pre-ordered number eight.

(Fatal Affair, Fatal Justice, Fatal Consequence, Fatal Flaw, Fatal Deception, Fatal Mistake, Fatal Jeopardy, and the newest one…Fatal Scandal)

There are two main characters…Sergeant Samantha (Sam) Holland and U.S. Senator Nick Cappuano. Each one is independent, successful and believable, having his/her weaknesses and strengths that have them clashing constantly with each other. As they fall in love, YOU will fall in love with them.

Below is the blurb for Book one of the series, Fatal Affair:

Washington, D.C., Metro Police Detective Sergeant Sam Holland needs a big win to salvage her career–and her confidence–after a disastrous investigation. The perfect opportunity arises when Senator John O’Connor is found brutally murdered in his bed, and Sam is assigned to the case. Matters get complicated when Sam has to team up with Nick Cappuano, O’Connor’s friend and chief of staff…and the man Sam had a memorable one-night stand with years earlier. Their sexual chemistry still sizzles, and Sam has to fight to stay focused on the case. Sleeping with a material witness is another mistake she can’t afford–especially when the bodies keep piling up.

Now I’m on to another of her series of books….McCarthy’s of Gansett Island. I’ll let you know soon what I think of this series, but if they’re as well written as the Fatal Series, I know I’ll enjoy them.

Happy reading!

I have several of these in my e-reader. Guess I need to move them farther up the TBR pile.

Thanks for sharing your reading experience!

I second what Sandy says. I love this series. I cannot wait until the next installment comes out in January (which seems like forever Moreover, as a writer, the way that she released the series taught me something about the power of free. The wedding novella sucked me in and I bought everything else that was available immediately. I haven’t read any of her contemp series, but I’m a big fan of this one!

I’m looking forward to meeting Marie at M&M.

Thanks for the kind words about the Fatal Series, Sandy! So glad you’re enjoying Sam and Nick’s adventures. Don’t forget about Fatal Destiny, the wedding novella that comes between Books 3 (Consequences) and 4 (Flaw).
