Hi, Connie! I also waited a long time to try writing ‘professionally’. I was afraid of so many things, failure chief among them. I’m glad I finally got started. It’s been a long journey.

Debbie, good luck to your granddaughter! With that kind of determination, I have no doubt she’ll be published one day. As far as moments of wanting to switch gears and do something else, I battle that every day, because the ideas are still there, all bottled up, waiting for their turn. What was supposed to be 12 months of writing has turned into 18 months, but I’m committed to the task of finishing the series.

Wow, 12 books in the series. Did you find any point at which you were ready to move to something else instead of continuing on?

Nice excerpt! Sounds like a great series. Thanks for sharing your story. I too started writing stories early in my life. I waited longer than most to take my writing seriously, but I’m trying to make up that time.

Marilyn, thanks for having me! It’s a pleasure to be here.

Sandra, I used to write by hand too, and sometimes I still do. And I also have those old manuscripts that I’d love to transcribe someday… Yes, there are 12 books in the series, and I’m hoping to do a 13th story at the end of next year that will bring back the couples for a wedding – who the lucky pair will be may get to be decided by readers, so stay tuned!

I really enjoyed your post, Connie. I record any shows I watch (and zip through the commercials) or get the instant download from Amazon or Netflix to avoid them. But yes, there are several that I really enjoy and/or have found inspiring to my creativity: Downton Abbey, Grimm, Justified, The Middle. British programming really appeals to me with its Masterpiece Theater series and period settings.

Like you…and Marilyn…I started back in the OLD days. Well, maybe not too far back into the typewriter days, but yes, back then. Then when hubs finally got a computer, we shared it…and you can imagine how much time I got on it since we both worked.

For years my stories were handwritten. There’s even a few today that I’ve never typed into the computer & they continue to gather real dust in a drawer versus cyber dust like a few other earlier attempts at writing.

Thanks for being with us today & I’ll be reading your series. Are you really doing 12 books in this series????? Wow.
